JC Realty Regina is proud to support the Coldest Night of the Year once again. On February 24th, the YWCA will be hosting this event in hopes to raise vital funds and awareness for Regina’s homeless. It’s a family-friendly walk-a-thon where one can participate in a 2KM, 5KM, or 10KM. Last year, they raised over $26,000 is support of homeless women and families who turn to the YWCA – enough to ensure that about 50 families had the support they needed to remain stably housed.
- Approximately 37% of the homeless population in Regina are children under the age of 18
- Nationally, 8,000 women and children are in shelters every night and 78% of women in shelters are homeless due to violence
- My Aunt’s Place, YWCA’s shelter for homeless women and their children, provides a temporary home for about 600 women and 200 children every year, operating at over 100% capacity
Please consider donating, volunteering, or participating this year and bring new hope to Regina’s homeless women, children and youth.
